🦿 Prosthetics & Artificial Legs

What types of artificial legs do you provide in Karachi?
We manufacture transtibial (below-knee), transfemoral (above-knee), hip disarticulation prosthetics, pediatric artificial legs for children, and active sports prosthetics using high-grade carbon fiber and lightweight aluminum components.
How much does an artificial leg cost in Pakistan?
Prices depend on the level of amputation, socket customization, foot module, and joint technology (mechanical vs. microprocessor knees). Ortho Plus Clinic offers options for every budget alongside free initial consultations.
How long does it take to learn walking with an artificial leg?
Most patients start walking within 1 to 3 weeks of receiving their prosthetic limb. Our team provides gait training and physical therapy sessions to help you gain confidence and balance quickly.
How often does an artificial leg need to be replaced or maintained?
A prosthetic socket typically lasts 2 to 4 years depending on limb shape changes, weight variations, and activity levels. Sockets or liners can be adjusted or replaced as needed. We provide regular checkups and maintenance services.

👟 AFO Shoes & Ankle Foot Orthoses

What are AFO shoes and who needs them?
AFO (Ankle Foot Orthosis) shoes and braces are medical devices engineered to support the foot and ankle. They are prescribed for patients with foot drop, cerebral palsy, stroke recovery, multiple sclerosis, and nerve injuries.
Can AFO shoes be worn with normal clothes and daily activities?
Yes! Our custom AFO shoes are designed to fit comfortably inside stylish footwear while offering max ankle stability, allowing patients to walk, work, and exercise effortlessly.
Do you provide AFO braces for children with cerebral palsy?
Yes, pediatric AFO braces are one of our core specialties. We design custom, colorful, and lightweight child AFO braces that prevent contractures and aid gait development.

🦴 Orthopedic Braces

What kinds of knee braces do you offer?
We provide ACL/MCL ligament support knee braces, osteoarthritis unloader braces, post-operative hinged knee braces, and patellar stabilizer braces.
Do you make spinal and back support braces?
Yes, we fabricate custom LSO (Lumbar Sacral Orthosis) braces, TLSO scoliosis braces, posture correction belts, and post-spinal surgery stabilization braces.

🦶 Custom Orthotic Foot Insoles

How do custom orthotic foot insoles help with flat feet and heel pain?
Custom foot insoles realign the arches of your feet, distribute pressure evenly across the plantar surface, and cushion the heel, reducing pain from flat feet, plantar fasciitis, and heel spurs.
Are diabetic foot insoles available?
Yes, we specialize in multi-density soft diabetic foot insoles that relieve pressure points, prevent foot ulcers, and protect sensitive diabetic feet.

👶 Pediatric (Children) Procedures & Devices

What orthotic & prosthetic procedures do you offer for young children in Karachi?
We specialize in custom pediatric artificial limbs, AFO (Ankle Foot Orthosis) & SMO (Supramalleolar Orthosis) braces for Cerebral Palsy, Denis Browne splints & Mitchell braces for Clubfoot (CTEV), pediatric scoliosis TLSO braces, and gait rehabilitation for toddlers.
How does the fitting procedure work for toddlers and infants?
The procedure is gentle, 100% pain-free, and child-friendly:
1. Gentle Assessment: Evaluation of bone structure, joint flexibility, and gait.
2. Soft 3D Impression: Quick non-invasive fiberglass or plaster impression taking.
3. Custom Fabrication: Handcrafted using ultra-lightweight foam and biocompatible materials.
4. Trial & Fitting: Careful alignment check to ensure zero pressure spots.
5. Growth Follow-up: Free periodic adjustments as your child grows.
What is the procedure for treating Clubfoot (CTEV) in newborn babies?
Following corrective Ponseti serial casting, we fit specialized Denis Browne boots-and-bars splints or Mitchell braces. These braces maintain the corrected foot position during sleep and play, preventing relapse and allowing normal bone development.
How do AFO braces help children with Cerebral Palsy or toe-walking?
Pediatric AFO braces align the ankle joint, control muscle spasticity, prevent equinus (toe-walking) gait, and provide a solid base of support. This enables children to stand, walk, run, and play safely alongside their peers.
How often do children need growth adjustments or new braces/prosthetics?
Because children grow rapidly, our pediatric devices feature adjustable expansion straps and growth-accommodating sockets. Minor adjustments are made every 3 to 6 months, and complete devices are updated as your child outgrows them.
At what age can a child start wearing an artificial leg or AFO brace?
Infants can start wearing supportive AFO braces or crawling prosthetics as early as 6 to 9 months old when they begin pulling up to stand or cruising. Early intervention encourages natural spinal, hip, and muscular growth.
Are pediatric devices comfortable and child-friendly?
Yes! We craft pediatric braces and limbs with extra soft hypoallergenic padding and fun, vibrant custom designs (favorite cartoon themes, bright colors, superhero patterns) so children feel excited and happy to wear them every day.
